Welcome to the site. March 20, 2010 I’m happy to report that Lunasa have just released their 7th album, Lá Nua. The album was recorded in November in a small cottage in the scenic Cooley Mountains in Co.Louth and will ready for release April 6th but you can now order the album here. I have included a track on the music page. We will embark on a support tour of the US starting April 8th and then tours of ireland and England in May. Full details are on the tour page. Jan 2010 Award for “On Common Ground” - Irish American News album of the year. Touring wise for 2010, I will begin the year in January with the Music Network Tour of Ireland. On this tour I will be playing with singer Susan McKeown, guitarist Aidan Brennan and accordion player Paddy O’Brien. We have all played with each other in one form or another but this will be our first tour together. Later in January, along with Lunasa I will be performing with singer Natalie Merchant at the Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow. From March 4-15th, myself and Kevin will again be touring the US to promote “On Common Ground”, with gigs in New York, Coatesville, PA, Portland, ME, Tuftenboro, NH, and Middletown, CT lined up so far. In late March into April, Lunasa will return to the road with a few gigs in ireland and France followed by a 3 week tour of the US. I also have set up a new myspace page www.myspace.com/cillianvallely with videos, photos and more music. April 2009 The latest news is that I’ve just released an album with Kevin Crawford, flute player and fellow member of Lunasa. The album is called “On Common Ground” and was recorded mostly on flat-pitched ‘C’ uilleann pipes and flute to give a more mellow sound. Described as “an outstanding duet debut” by the Irish Echo, the album is available exclusively here for the month of April from our online shop.
